Marilyn Kay Lafrenz, age 85 of Lowden, passed away in her home on Monday September 16, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Saturday September 21 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time. Burial will be in the Lowden Cemetery.

Marilyn was born May 23, 1939 in Lowden, Iowa to Lee and Lorraine (Krenz) Milota. She married Robert Kroemer and later divorced. She then married Otto "Harvey" Lafrenz and he passed away in 2004.

Marilyn graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1972. She was a transcriptionist for 25 years at the DeWitt Hospital, drove garbage truck for many years, was Lee's Garage secretary & co-owner, and a farmer's wife. Marilyn enjoyed pottery and ceramics in her younger years, along with cross stitching.

She is survived by her children Richard (Terri) Kroemer of Waukee, Iowa, Randy (Ana) Kroemer of Titusville, Florida, Dawn (David) Adney of Lowden, Heather Owens of Maquoketa, and Carolynne Lafrenz of Grand Island, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Jim; and daughter Bobbianne.
