Mark W. Meyer, age 74 of Stanwood, passed away on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday January 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will be at the Stanwood Cemetery with military honors.

Mark was born December 27, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Kenneth and Kathleen Thompson Meyer.

Survivors include his sons Phillip of Marion and Jason (Katherine) of Shorewood, IL; grandchildren Drew, Zach, Landon, Kinley, and Nash; brother Kent of Coralville; and sister Joan (Tom) Hanna of Anamosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mark served his country in Vietnam with the Marines and was very proud of the Marine Corps. He was a diesel mechanic that truly enjoyed socializing at the local "watering hole". He was a quiet man that liked to read and enjoyed his grandkids. He also was proud of beating lung cancer in previous years along with many other medical hurdles.
