Marvel Blackman was born December 18, 1910, in Mechanicsville, Iowa to Walter and Bertha (Hamdorf) Petersen. She married Arnold Blackman on February 1, 1930, in Wheatland. Arnold died in 1985. A graveside service for Marvel Blackman will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2005, 10:00 AM at Pioneer Cemetery in rural New Liberty. There will be no visitation, arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Marvel Blackman was proceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Harriet Timmerman, and brother Wallace Petersen. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
