Marvella Mae Baird, age 88 of Clarence, passed away on Monday December 25, 2017 at Mechanicsville Specialty Care from complications of Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 29, 2017 at 10:30 A.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Reverend Matt Schneider-Adams officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Clarence. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M until service time at the funeral home. Marvella was born on August 21, 1929 to Carl and Martha (Syring) Wulff in Clarence, Iowa. She married Roy Baird on September 29, 1953 at St. John's UCC in Clarence. He died on June 27, 2013. Marvella was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked at various Clarence businesses over the years, including Chapman's and Henry Thies' Clothing, and also ran a day care in her home. Marvella is survived by son, Al (Teri) of Tipton; daughter, Kathy (Dave) Turnball of Indianola, Iowa; grandchildren, Angela (Sean) Driscoll, Tyler (Kendra) Baird, Sarah Downard, and Megan (Kyle) Baker; great grandchildren, Jaclynne, Kaylee and Landon Driscoll and Caden, Gracee, Kash and Brody Downard; sister-in-law, Judy Wulff; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Dale Wulff.
