Marven W. Deke, age 96, of Lowden, Iowa, died Friday, October 19, 2007, at Summit Pointe Senior Living Community in Marion, Iowa. Marven was born January 14, 1911, in Lowden, Iowa to Werner and Wilhelmina (Kruckenberg) Deke. Marven married Louise Anna Wenndt on October 21, 1934 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Rev. Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 on Monday, October 22, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Marven was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Marven and Louise were custodians of Trinity Lutheran Church for seventeen years after they retired from forty-two years of farming. Marven also worked for Lowden Feed and Fertilizer for 14 years. The family would like to thank the people at Summit Pointe in Marion for their tender love and care during these difficult times. Marven is survived by his wife Louise; daughter Marilyn Mulbrook of Marion, Iowa; son Sonny (Mary) Deke of Marion, Iowa; daughter Diane (Robert) Kibby of Ely, Iowa; seven grandchildren Michael (Brenda) Mulbrook, Mark (Diane) Mulbrook, Mathew (Lois) Mulbrook, Scott (Kari) Kibby, Trent (Lori) Kibby, Sonda (Jeff) Maneman and Kamila Demuth; one step grandchild Mark Gilmore; nine great-grandchildren Nathan, Erin, Megan, Stephonie, Nicholas, Nathan, Katie, Jacob and Ryan; and one step great- grandchild, Jessica. Marven was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Hubert, Sylvan, Melvin, Reuben; son-in-law Larry Mulbrook; daugher-in-law Golda Deke; and great-grandson Benjamin Mulbrook.
