Marvin C. Esbaum, age 82, of Lowden, Iowa, died Friday, March 27, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marvin was born on May 11, 1926, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Richard and Erma (Sarby) Esbaum. Marvin married Loretta Petersen on August 7, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa. Marvin loved being a farmer his entire life. He also enjoyed traveling, especially bus trips. Funeral services for Marvin Esbaum will be held at 10:30am on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Marvin is survived by his wife Loretta; daughters Karen Rice of Riverside, California, and Linda (John) Sander of Clarence; son Dean (Sally) of Cicero, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and brother Everett (Bonnie) of Wheatland, Iowa. Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents.
