Marvin Dean Thurston, age 66 of Clarence, passed away on Friday October 10, 2014 at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Saturday October 18, 2014 from 2-4 P.M. Burial will be at the Clarence Cemetery at noon on Sunday October 19. Marvin was born the son of James Herbert and Grace Thelma Wagner Thurston on December 28, 1947 in Tipton. He attended the Tipton High School. He was married for 21 years to Freida Mae Hoffner, raising 4 boys Marty, Mickey, Micah and Toby. He spent the remainder of his life with Diane Hines, raising a daughter Tara, who shares his birth date. Marvin is survived by his 4 sons, daughter, a daughter-in-law, 8 grandkids, and 4 great grandkids. He now joins his siblings Albert Thurston, Jack Thurston, Earl Thurston, Robert Thurston, Fred Thurston, Tommy Thurston and sisters, Boneta "Bonnie Mae" Moffit, Betty Ann Cozad and Peggy Foxworth.
