Mary Jane Goodlove, age 78 of Wheatland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 2, 2025 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of Mary's life will be held in the spring.

Mary was born on November 1, 1946 in Monticello, Iowa to Roland and Pearl (Blomgren) Frisch. She married Joe Goodlove on February 29,1984 in Long Beach, CA.

Survivors include her husband Joe; children Trent (Kristi) Fillenworth of Ft. Worth, TX, Lori (Remi) Arretche of Clovis, CA, and Christy (Jim) Goodlove of Roseville, CA; grandchildren Mark, Renee, Jolene, Matthew, Jordan, Kourtnee, Brandon, Chandler, Mitchell, and Garrett; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Raymond and sister Patsy Dunham.

Mary graduated from Prairie High School and earned a degree in Library Science from Kirkwood before attending Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College specializing in Geology. She worked for Torrance Electric in Cedar Rapids and taught at Prairie High School where she also was in charge of the Library, before moving to California in 1982 and working as an office manager, a travel agent, and oversaw the Library at Brooks College in Long Beach. Mary and Joe had a bed and breakfast in Yuma, AZ for 1 year and in Iowa for 6 years. Before moving to California, she also raised and trained Labrador Retrievers. Mary was passionate about archery, often competing in competitions, and was invited to try out at the Olympics one year. She was also passionate about rocks, and had collections of a lot of different items.
