Obituary

Max E. Taylor, age 92 of Mechanicsville, passed away on Monday November 9, 2015 at Trinity Unity Point in Muscatine. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Jan Horne officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M until service time. Max was born on December 22, 1922 in Plato, Iowa to Charles Ivan and Minnie (Parsons) Taylor. He married Lorraine Lehrman on June 16, 1946 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood. Max was a great dad and loving husband. He had a passion for livestock farming and enjoyed playing piano in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Max had a great work ethic and his favorite quote was, "I didn't waste my time". He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Muscatine; sons, Dennis (Cindy) of Muscatine and Gary (LeAnn) of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Sara (George) Demos, Matt (Becky) Taylor, Luke Taylor, Aubrey Taylor, Kaylyn Taylor, and Mitchell & Jake Braden; great grandchildren, Landon & Ian Taylor; and sister, Doris (Norman) Weist of Rochester, MN. Max was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Fox. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
