Merlyn K. Bixler, 70, of Clarence, Iowa died Friday, February 17th, 2006 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Casa Grande Arizona after a sudden Illness. Merlyn Bixler was born on January 6, 1936 in Clarence, Iowa to Mearl Bixler and Dorothy Kintzel. Merlyn Bixler married Carlene Kelding August 27th, 1960 at Bennett Iowa. Merlyn was a 1954 graduate of Clarence High School and a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and former church council member. He was a member of the Clarence Cemetery board. Visitation is Thursday February 23rd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence Iowa. The funeral service will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence, Iowa on Friday, February 24th at 10:30 A.M. Reverend David Mears will be officiating. Burial will be at Clarence Cemetery. Merlyn is survived by his wife Carlene; sons Michael (Debra) of Clarence and Mourey (Marge) of Aurora, Illinois; daughter Michele (Murray) Shedeck of Oxford Junction; brother Dale (Sherri) of Huntley, Illinois; also surviving are 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
