Michael D. Moeller, age 79 of Toronto, Iowa, passed away on October 27, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington, Illinois. Visitation from 10-11 AM will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence on Saturday October 31, 2020 with a graveside service to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Toronto, Iowa. Michael was born June 14, 1941 to Peter and Dorothy Pateo Moeller at Des Moines, Iowa. He married Lorraine Quinn on January 4, 1963 at Norfolk, Virginia. She passed away on December 20, 1995. Survivors include his daughter Michele Calef of Tipton; grandchildren Mickenzie Allen, Makayla Allen, Keegan Allen, Paul Moeller, and Angelique Moeller; 9 great grandchildren; nieces Lori Arensdorf and Megan Hendrickson; nephews Lonnie Moeller and Derek Hendrickson; and sister-in-law Erin J. Hendrickson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorraine; 2 sons Michael and Mark; and brother Charles. Michael served his country proudly in the Navy until his retirement, including the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but mostly enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by.
