Michael P. Van Daele, age 66, of Wheatland, Iowa, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Michael was born March 23, 1946, in Davenport to Oscar and Donna (Kravens) Van Daele.\nHe married SuAnn Jacobs on November 23, 1968, at St. Paul�s United Church of Christ in Wheatland.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul�s United Church of Christ in Wheatland on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Cofield officiating. \nBurial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland.
Visitation will be held from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mike Van Daele for sarcoidosis treatment and research directed by Dr. Doug Hornick at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Michael was a member of the church and loved his family with all his heart. He enjoyed going to his cabin, being on the farm and his dog, Wiggles. The family would like to thank three special friends, Erletta, Barb and Joann for the special care and kindness they expressed.
He is survived by his wife, SuAnn; son, Lanny, and wife, Teena Davis-Van Daele, of Iowa City; two daughters, Lynnette Van Daele of Los Angeles, Calif., and Molly (Lee Schultz) Van Daele of DeWitt, Iowa; four grandchildren, Savannah, Noah, Lowden and Holden; sister, Sally (Dennis) Starling of Calamus, Iowa; brother-in-law, Terry (Dena) Jacobs of Kensington, Md., and their three children Cameron, Miranda and Keaton; and sister-in-law, Dr. Lois Jacobs of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
