Mildred M. Martens, age 93 of Wheatland, passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt. Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland with Pastor Diane Prichard officiating. A lunch will be provided at St. Paul's UCC in Wheatland following the service. Mildred was born on December 5, 1922 to Fred and Ruth (Welty) Horstmann in Toronto, Iowa. She married Ralph Martens on August 14, 1949 at St. Paul's UCC in Wheatland. Mildred enjoyed flowers, gardening, and loved to read. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Lisa Baker; and 5 grandchildren, Danielle, Tanner, Chase, Chelsie, and Natalie. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ken.
