Mildred R. Snyder, 87, of Dixon, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Dewitt Community Hospital in Dewitt, Iowa. Mildred was born on October 24, 1920, to Fred and Ella (Roseland) Pruhs. Mildred married Bill Snyder on December 15, 1942, in Wheatland, Iowa; he died May 15, 1995.
After graduating from Calamus High School, Mildred married Bill Snyder and they farmed together in rural Scott County. Mildred was active in the community serving as 4-H Leader, Cub Scout leader, and Dixon Park board member. She loved sewing and traveling and always had an active interest in her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mildred Snyder will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, with Pastor Diane Prichard officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Dixon Fire Department, Dixon American Legion, Dixon Memorial Park or Big Rock United Church of Christ.
Mildred is survived by her sons Lynn (Patricia) of Dixon and Loren (Donna) of Metamora, Illinois; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Marie Will and Doris Griebel both of Dewitt.
Mildred was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson.\n
