Ned A. "Tiny" Ganzer, age 69 of Wheatland, died on Monday May 11, 2015 at the Bettendorf Health Care Center. There will be no services per Ned's wishes. He was cremated and will be buried in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Ned was born on June 24, 1945 to Henry and Hazel (Goodell) Ganzer in Wheatland, Iowa. He married Jamie Vargas on September 26, 1992 in Grand Mound.
Ned served on the Wheatland City Council and as Mayor for 10 years. He was a lifelong trucker, retiring in 2008. He enyoyed watching his beloved Hawkeyes play football and was a diehard Cubs fan. He also liked to work his wordfind puzzles and visit with his many friends on the phone. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie; daughter, Andrea; brothers, Devere (Lorraine) of Eldridge and Dale (Dorothy) of Davenport; sisters, Phoebe Rhoades of Monticello and Rosemary Elwood of Ada, Ohio; mother-in-law, Hope Vargas of Davenport; brother-in-law, Bruce (Michele)Vargas of Davenport; and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willis, Roland, Roy and Max; and sisters, Audrey Elwood, Louisa Deke and Margaret Purvis. May they all rest in peace.
