Noel E. Mast, age 67, of Clarence, Iowa, died July 24, 2006, at St. Lukes Hospital - Cedar Rapids. Noel was born December 25, 1938, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Harry and Ruth (Rittgers) Mast. Noel Married Carol Maxwell on July 30, 1966, in Fort Madison, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2006, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:30-8:00 on Thursday, July 27, at Chapman's in Clarence. Noel was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, step-father Ralph Sunderlin and a step-brother Donald Sunderlin. Noel was survived by Wife of 40 years, Carol, sons Stephen( Jill) of Kansas City, Mo. and Grant of West DeMoines, Ia., brothers David (Lois) of Colfax, Roger (Donna) of Gladstone, Mo., Wayne of Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania, Clarence (Teresa) of Jackson, Michigan, sister Harriet (Doug) Sharp of Lansing, many nieces and nephews and close friends. Noel graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1966. He was employed by the Clarence Community School district and then ran his own business. He was presently an Industrial Tech. teacher at Muscatine High School. He was active in his community and served on the Clarence City Council. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a member of Phi Delta Kappa International. He was held in esteem by many friends and colleagues. He was a life-long learner and was interested in antique tractors, cars, and engines or anything that was old. A memorial fund has been established.
