Nona M. Scheper, age 94, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 until service time. Burial will be in the Inland Cemetery.

Nona was born December 14, 1928 in Massillon, Iowa to Fred and Elizabeth (Wiedenhoff) Busch. She married LeRoy Scheper on December 18, 1946 in Lowden.

Survivors include her sons Darry (Elba) of Toronto, IA, Dennis (Rose) of Rock Island, IL, and Kevin of Davenport; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters Betty Schau of Wheatland and Lois Latare of Eldridge; sister-in-law Regina Busch; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers George and Roger; a grandchild in infancy; and a great grandchild.

Nona worked at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home, retiring after forty years when she turned 80 years old. She enjoyed going on vacations with her brothers and sisters, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family greatly appreciates the staff at Wheatland Manor for the loving care of Nona.
