Norma Lee Wells, age 84 of Stanwood, passed away on Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 8, 2014 at 10:30 A.M at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton with Reverend Richard Okumu officiating. Burial will follow at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Norma was born on December 9, 1929 to Joseph and Dellen (Edge) O'Bryan in Frankfort, Indiana. She married Earl Wells on June 4, 1966. He died on September 21, 2009. Norma was a beloved mother and enjoyed socializing with her friends in Stanwood. She worked as an office clerk in Davenport early in her career. Norma then worked at the Cedar County Care Facility in Tipton, did in-home aid services, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed nature and bicycling with her husband Earl. She will be dearly missed. Norma is survived by her sons, William of Cedar Rapids and Dennis Day of Ohio; sisters, Geraldine Mathews of Rossville, IN. and Dorothy (Paul) Rock of Frankfort, IN.; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Helen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tipton Senior Services/Meals on Wheels.
