Norman H. Biere, age 92 of Lowden, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016 at St. Luke's Unity Point Hospice in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 14, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Tommi Boeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with a Masonic Service at 1:45 at the church.
Norman was born on June 1, 1923 in Jones County to Henry and Minnie (Rix) Biere. He married Bernita Muesing on November 25, 1948 at the Little Brown Church.
Norman farmed for many years and also worked at Land of Lakes prior to retirement. He was a member of the Olin Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Bernita; daughters, Verlyn Biere (Tom Suhs) of Oak Lawn, IL and Donna Biere (Len Thiele) of Geneva, IL; grandchildren, Grant Suhs and Todd Suhs; sister, Doris Henderson of Fargo, ND; and brothers, Fred Biere of Naples, FL and Henry Biere of Anamosa.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; son, Glenn; and brothers, Howard Biere and Raymond Biere.
