Obituary

Norman H. Beuthien, age 48, of New Hartford, Iowa and formerly of Lowden, Iowa, was tragically killed by a tornado at his rural New Hartford home on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Norman was born on January 12, 1960, in Davenport to Harold and Mary Jane (Cochran) Beuthien. Norman graduated from Clarence-Lowden High School. He was a long time member of the Lowden Jaycees and a member of the Lions Club in New Hartford. Norman was employed by the Farm Service Fertilizer in Lowden and recently by The Farmers Coop, Dike-New Hartford & Parkersburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Funeral services for Norman will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 30, 2008, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Barbara Muhs officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery in New Liberty, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, May 29, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Norman is survived by his parents Harold Beuthien of Davenport and Mary Jane (Wayne) Cochran Spriggs of Greeenfield; daughters Tomi (Shane) Fuchs of Cedar Rapids and Heather (Troy) Greenwood of Urbana; grandchildren Tristan, Lance, Thaden and AnnaBelle; sister Joanne (Sam) Lee of Dewitt; brothers Robert (Joy) Beuthien of Hartsburg, Missouri, David (Julie) Beuthien of Dewitt, Iowa, and Donald (Tammy) Beuthien of Era, Texas; special friend Renae Kincaid of New Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his niece and goddaughter Bridgett Beuthien and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
