Peggy V. DeWulf, age 91, passed away quietly Sunday October 7, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.. Visitation will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland on Wednesday from 4:30 until 8 with a vigil service at 7:45. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Big Rock.\n Peggy Voe Morgan was born November 30, 1920 to Carl and Maude(Wendel)Morgan at home in the Calamus area. Peggy was one of 10 children born to the couple. Peggy graduated from Calamus High School and went on to receive her nursing degree from Jane Lambert Hospital in Clinton. Later she moved to California where she met and wed Daniel Horner and they had a son Gregg Daniel Horner. After Daniel's death, Peggy met and married Arthur DeWulf of Wheatland and together they had four more sons(one of which died in infancy). Peggy worked as a nurse, but also helped her husband farm north of Wheatland. Peggy was a member of the Wheatland Auxiliary.\n Peggy is survived by her husband of 62 years Arthur; sons Gene(Berma)DeWulf of Ackworth, Ga.; Garth(Anita) of Wheatland and Kelly(Edna)DeWulf also of Wheatland; daughter-in-law Maureen Horner of Omaha, Nebraska and 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.\n She was preceeded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; her first husband Daniel Horner; son Gregg Horner and an infant son John DeWulf.\n Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
