Rhonda Lynn Poppe, age 71 of Lowden, passed away in her home on Saturday evening, August 30, 2025. There will be a celebration honoring Rhonda at Calkins Barn in Wyoming on Friday, September 5th from 11:00 a.m-3:00 p.m.

Rhonda was born September 28, 1953 to James and Naydene (Allen) Willman. She married Steve Poppe on April 18, 1970 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in Monticello.

She is survived by her husband Steve; daughter Tammy (Poppe) Ernst of Muscatine; grandchildren Mackenzie, Olivia; Sophie, and Elijah; sister Carolyn Seeley of Manchester; and daughter-in-law Shannon Poppe of Lowden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Cody; a brother; and two sisters.

Rhonda spent many years taking care of elderly people in town, cleaning their homes, running them to doctor appointments, hair appointments, and just being there to listen. They became her family.

Anything that had to do with the sunshine, flowers, and hummingbirds always brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed many trips with Steve to Bellevue, where she loved being on the river. Her bright smile and laugh will be missed.
