Richard Alan Bails, age 67 of Stanwood, passed away suddenly at his home. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Richard was born on October 27, 1954 to John Ray and Barbara Irene (Treichler) Bails in Cedar Rapids. Richard served his country in the Air Force, retiring after 20 years. He was a man that kept to himself, but enjoyed watching stock car racing, tractor pulls, wrestling, hockey, and minor league baseball. He is survived by his siblings Robert Bails of Springville, John (Karen) Bails of Lowden, Donald (Diane) Bails of Norway, Charles "Chuck" (Laurie) Bails of Mt. Vernon, Paul (Pam) Bails of Papilion, NE, Mary Ellen Knupp of Vinton, Linda Nemecek of Greentown, IN, Nancy (L.A.) Forrest of North Liberty, Margaret (Ronnie) Bails-Downs of Creedmoor, NC, Betty (Don) Conkel of Cedar Rapids and June (Loren) Walshire of Onaga, KS; sisters in-law Rosalind Bails of Waukee & Kathy Bails of Stanwood; brother in-law John "Jack" Voss of Stanwood; and many nieces & nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jim & William Bails; sisters Sarah Menzer & Susan Voss; sister-in-law Mollie Bails; brother-in-law Byron Knupp; and nieces Karen Hildebrand & Marcia Krenz.
