Richard L. Ebers, age 90 of Lowden, passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 23, 2016 at 10:30 A.M at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Daniel Redhage officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held on Friday January 22, 2016 from 4-6 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Richard was born on March 3, 1925 to Alfred and Emma (Wenndt) Ebers in rural Clarence. He married Arla Mae Danielsen on March 20, 1955 in Grand Mound. Richard was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War and was a member of the Clarence American Legion. He was a farmer, liked to cane chairs and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Arla Mae; son, Steven (Helen) of Beaverton, OR; daughters, Pat (Jeff) VonAhnen of Marshalltown, Jane (Doug) Fett of Binghamton, NY, Julie (Ty) Moreno of Council Bluffs; 9 grandchildren; and sister, Ruth (Orville) Hormann of Clarence. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; and sister, Rose Dallege.
