Richard L. Kahl, age 71, of Clarence, Iowa, died Monday February 19, 2007, at home after sudden illness. Richard was born July 31, 1935, in Clarence, Iowa to John and Louise (Miller) Kahl. Richard married Audrey Jo Lewis on May 30, 1959 in Clarence. He had worked at Purina Mills at Olin before retiring in 2000. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 23, 2007, at St.John's United Church of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a step mother and 2 step brothers. Richard is survived by his wife Audrey; a daughter Brenda Kahl of Vinton; sons Jeff(Cheryl) of Lisbon, Tom of Puyuallup Washington, Larry(Angie)of Ankeny; 6 grandchildren; Aunts Freida Mae Benhart of Wyoming and Ethyel Miller of Tipton.
