Richard R. Rowold, age 88 of Wheatland, passed away on June 8, 2023 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no formal services. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Paul's Cemetery in Wheatland.

Richard was born June 5, 1935 in Wheatland, IA, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Morgan) Rowold. After graduating from Wheatland High School, he attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon. He then served three years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He entered business with his father at Rowold & Rowold Insurance in Wheatland and retired in 2000.

On November 21, 1959 he married Nona McCutcheon in Clinton, IA. Richard and his wife have gone fishing in Brainard, MN every year for over sixty years. He loved to hunt, fish, and shoot skeet with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren at his cabin on the Wapsi.

Family members left to honor his memory are his wife Nona, daughters Denise (Mark) Jensen of Clinton and Dawn (Jerry) Ford of Clinton, sons Richard P. Rowold of Wheatland and Dan (Karen) Rowold of Corinth, TX; four grandchildren including Andrew (Amanda) Jensen, Tim (Lauren) Jensen, Nick (Brenda) Jensen, and Ethan (Heidi) Ford; five great grandchildren (Lucy & Miri Jensen, Oliver Jensen, and Nona & Zachariah Jensen); and two brothers, Harry and Ben Rowold.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Tom Rowold; and sister Jeanene Cavey.
