Richard "Tony" Petersen, age 66, son of Richard and Eunice (Hunter) Petersen, died at his home Tuesday, June 6,2006, after an extended illness. Services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home-Clarence at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 9, led by Pastor Phil Leipold. Following services his body will be cremated with inurnment in Sharon Hill cemetery at Kalona at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials can be sent to Stanwood Fire Dept. or the family. Tony left behind his wife Carolyn Koob, sons-Kevin (Chris) Koob of Stanwood and Kenneth (Denise) Koob of Anamosa, daughter-Deb (Steve) Heiken of Wyoming, Ia and also daughters Terri Petersen and Tina Graves of Low Moor, Ia, sister Linda Petersen and special friend Becky Swyers of Olin. Also surviving are 10 grandchidlren and 5 great grandchildren. Tony had been employed as a truck driver. He had been a member of the Stanwood Fire Dept for 30 years and a former chief.
