Rick Bentrott, age 68 of Lowden, passed away on Friday January 13, 2023 at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport. Funeral services will be on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden at 10:30 AM with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Lowden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time at the church.

Rick was born on May 24, 1954 in Dewitt, Iowa to Mervin and Eleanor (Muhs) Bentrott. He married Karen Conrad on June 16, 1979 at Zion UCC in Lowden.

He is survived by his wife Karen; son Jared (special friend Shannon Robertson & her children Hayden, Elin, and Quinn) of Lowden; daughter Stacy (Eric) Pedretti of Des Moines; grandchildren Lillian & Caroline; sister Teresa (Robin) Pewe of Wheatland; brother Greg (Deb) Bentrott of Lowden; several nieces & nephews; sister-in-law Carla (Paul) Olson of Grand Mound; and mother-in-law Gladys Conrad of Clarence.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Myron Conrad.

Rick loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was a big Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Rick was previously on the Lowden town council as well as the park board, and enjoyed playing golf in his earlier days at the 3/30 Club in Lowden. He was a great father, coach, and mentor, as well as a loving father, husband, brother, and grandfather.
