Robert C. Bunge, age 86 of Lowden, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday September 17, 2021 in the same home that he was born. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 21 also at Trinity from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Bob was born October 11, 1934 in Lowden to Otto and Dorothea Licht Bunge. He married Elaine Burkey on July 30, 1966 in Salem, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Elaine; son Jeff (Jodi) of Dubuque; daughters Jean (Randy) Manning of Maquoketa and Jolene Hancock of Oglesby, IL; grandchildren Mallory, Hailey and Hunter Manning and Tony Hancock; and great granddaughter Jayce Merkle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Carl, Howard, and Harold; and sister Dorothy Haensel.
Bob was a school bus driver for over 15 years for both the Clarence–Lowden and North Cedar School Districts. He also mowed the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery along with 2 township cemeteries for over 20 years. Bob was a past member of the Trinity Men's and Mixed Choirs and was a big Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He loved his family (especially spoiling the grandkids), and the most important things to him in life were faith, family, and farming.
