Robert "Bob" E. Pierce, age 85, formerly of Grinnell, IA and Tampa, FL passed away on Monday January 21, 2019 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. A luncheon will follow at the Pizza Ranch in Grinnell. Bob was born April 9, 1933 at Grinnell, Iowa to Marshall and Clarice Guyer Pierce. He was married to Roberta Hansen on June 27, 1952, and she passed away in 1968. He then was united in marriage to Eileen Case Meyer on June 1, 1973. Bob enjoyed golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, ice cream, Pepsi, watching birds, and was on many bowling leagues. Surviving Bob is his wife Eileen of Clarence; children, Cathy Buck of Grinnell, David Pierce of Montezuma, Marvin Pierce of Aurora, CO, Gary Pierce of Aurora, CO, Diane (Mike) Mindrup of Australia, Karen Meyer of North Liberty, Richard (Deb) Meyer of Mechanicsville; sisters, Carol Crawford of Grinnell, Betty Paul of Grinnell, Nadine Allen of Grinnell; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles; sisters Bernie Brown and Joan Stevenson; and an infant sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent to Eileen at 408 2nd Ave. Clarence, Iowa 52216. Eileen wants to thank Dick, Megan, and Julie along with the Clarence Assisted Living and Nursing Home for their loving care of Bob.
