Robert R. Schneider, age 88 of Davenport and formerly of Bennett, died Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 30 at 1:30 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Reverend Merle Warnsholz officiating. Burial will follow at the Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M until service time at the funeral home. Robert was born on January 9, 1929 to Otto and Alma (Schluter) Schneider in Lowden, Iowa. He married Mary Pat Prevratil and she passed away in 1990. He then married Shirley Ketelson on July 3, 1991. Robert was the past owner of RR Schneider Corporation and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. He was a man of God and liked to do puzzles. Robert served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Davenport; daughters, Julie (Mike) Steffen of Tipton and Patti (Curtis) Steen of Nashville, TN; son, Royce (Jean) of Richmond, TX; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and step daughter, Candy (Bob) Schwan of Davenport. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Pat Schneider; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
