Ronald R. Armstrong, age 89 of Clarence, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2014 at the Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 10:30 A.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Carol Mart officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville. Visitation will be held on Friday December 12, 2014 from 5-7 P.M at Chapman's in Clarence. Ronald was born on July 12, 1925 to Birt and Leone (Koppenhaver) Armstrong in Cedar County. He married Marlene Barnes on June 24, 1977 at the Clarence United Methodist Church. Ronald was a member of the Stanwood Masonic Lodge and the Clarence United Methodist Church. He was a farmer, an avid hunter and gun collecter, and loved trap shooting. He is survived by his wife, Marlene; step daughters, Deb (Terry) Wagner of Clarence and Robin (Jim) Seago of Stanwood; 6 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry; grandson, Tony; brother, Jim; and sister, Geneva.
