Funeral Service
Rozella Elaine Steinke, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her daughters’ home in Robins on Friday March 13, 2026. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Daniel Redhage and Reverend Chris Navurskis officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Rozella was born March 5, 1940 in Lowden, Iowa to Edwin and Bertha (Hoffmeier) Wenndt. She married Harold Steinke on August 9, 1958. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work while raising their four children.
Rozella was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in caring for her family. She is survived by her children Kevin Steinke, Kathy Norman, Kirk (Laurie) Steinke, and Kimberly Steinke. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother James; and two great grandchildren.
Rozella was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to helping others. Over the years she worked for Square D, Molo Oil, Lange Grocery, and Little Home Daycare. She also served the residents of Wheatland Manor for 22 ½ years, where she became a familiar and caring presence.
Faith was an important part of Rozella’s life. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, where she was active in Ladies Aid and the Mission Guild. She was also a member of the Lowden Lions and generously volunteered her time delivering Meals on Wheels, as well as helping with various community events.
Rozella enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, she will be remembered as a hard worker and a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family.
Her kindness, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
