Ruth Hartwig, 95, of Clarence, Iowa died peacefully Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Clarence Nursing Home,peacfully with her family at her bedside from Kidney failure.
Ruth Hartwig was born on March 4, 1910 on a farm near Toronto, Iowa to William Barnhart and Mae Welty. Ruth Hartwig married Norman Hartwig June 1, 1932.
Norman and Ruth farmed together near Clarence until his death in 1972. Prior to her marriage she taught country school for four years. Ruth was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a charter member of the EZ Aces club. Ruth will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation is from 10:00 A.M. till 11:30 A.M. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence Iowa with private burial in St. John's Church cemetery to Follow. The funeral service will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ on Saturday, February 4, at 12:30 pm. Reverend Beverly Thompson-Travis and Reverend David Mears will be officiating.
Ruth Hartwig is survived by daughters: Karyl Kay Harwig of Clarence, Rosalee(Reg) Lewis of Bellingham, Washington, Joselyn(Charles) Haefner of Tucson Arizona; a son: Norman J.(Linda) of Castle Rock, Colorado, also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, 2 brothers and a sister.
