Ruth E. Hormann, age 90 of Clarence, passed away on Tuesday March 21, 2023 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence on Thursday March 30 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Matt Schneider-Adams officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

Ruth was born December 3, 1932 in Cedar County to Alfred and Emma Wenndt Ebers. She married Orville Hormann on February 11, 1951 at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. He passed away in 2018.

Survivors include her son Mark (Teri) of Clarence; daughters Marcia Syring of Clarence and Marilyn (Tom) Fitzgerald of Mechanicsville; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Arla Mae Ebers of Lowden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Rosemary Dallege; brother Richard Ebers; and son-in-law Al Syring.

Ruth worked hard on the farm with her husband Orville while enjoying gardening, card clubs, square dancing, and watching the Cubs and Hawkeyes. She was a member of St. John's Lend-A-Hand and enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports.
