Scott A. Dierks, age 30, of Clarence, Iowa, died at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City on June 30, 2011. Scott was born January 25, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Duane Dierks and Janet (Herring) Dierks. Scott married Nicki Kay on December 9, 2006 at Wheatland. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Rev. David Mears and Rev. John Cofield officiating. Burial will follow at Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 5, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Scotty loved farming beside his dad and brother. He was full of life and lived every day to the fullest. He was a great father to his 2 sons and a loving husband to his wife. Scotty liked everybody he met and everybody liked him in return. Scotty loved racing his #29D stock car at the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton. He is survived by wife Nicki; sons Brady and Kyler at home; parents Duane and Jan Dierks of Olin; brother Brad and friend Trisha of Clarence; maternal grandmother Dorothy Herring; mother- and father-in-law Randy and Kim Kay of Wheatland; brother-in-law Jason (Jenn) Kay of Wheatland; and aunts and uncles. Scott was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Glenn and Geneva Dierks, his sister Sarah, and maternal grandfather Roland Herring.
