Selma Schroeder, age 98, of Clarence, Iowa, died November 5, 2009, at Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab. Selma was born August 13, 1911, to Richard Conrad and Anna Geadelmann. She married Hugo Schroeder Jan 31, 1937, in Bennett. He died in 2001. Selma was a member of St. John's Church and the King's Daughter Circle. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 9, 2009, at St. John's United Church Of Christ of Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, November 8, at the church. Selma is survived by her sons Vern(Carol) and Robert(Donna) of Clarence, and sister Pauline Witte of Hills. Also surviving are 5 grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
