Shirlene E. Weaver, age 85 of Iowa City and formerly of Clarence, passed away on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 31, 2016 at the Clarence United Methodist Church at 10:30 A.M with Pastor Carol Mart and Joe Ledvina officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday December 30 from 5-8 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Shirlene was born on July 20, 1931 to Wilmot and Genevieve (Morgan) Lendt in Tipton, Iowa. She married Kenneth Weaver on June 29, 1950 in Clarence. Shirlene graduated from Clarence in 1950. She loved going south for the winter, dancing, and attending big family gatherings. Shirlene also enjoyed time at the lake and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sons, Mike (Bonnie) of The Villages, FL, Mark (Margaret) of Davenport, and Mervin (Patrice) of Lisbon; daughters, Marcy Lamp of Iowa City and Lisa (Ross) Hunwardsen of Fairmont, MN; sisters, Donna (Lee) Schweiger of Princeton, IA and Sherry (Larry) Ledvina of Bettendorf; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents.
