Shirrie L. Burmeister, age 63, of Clarence, Iowa, died Monday, April 25, 2011 in her home. Shirrie was born February 8, 1948, in McGregor, Iowa to Richard Warren Jones and IlaDean Mable (Candler) Jones. Shirrie married Bob Burmeister on June 15, 1996 at the Methodist Church in Clarence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Calvary 4 Square Church in Tipton, Iowa, with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 on Thursday, April 28, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Shirrie was an awesome artist doing wonderful pictures. Her hands were very gifted, making things anybody needed. She loved cows and her cow collection. She was a great wife, mom and grandma, and had a big heart. She was very caring for other people. She is survived by husband Bob; daughters Jennifer (Chaney) Engel of Springville, CA, Char (Gary) Heims of Tipton, Brenda (Don) Schumacher of Clarence, and Laura (Chad )Ihrig of Tipton; son Robert Burmeister of Bettendorf, IA; sister LaVonne (Harold) Smith of Kansas City, KS; brother-in-law Terry DeMoss of Oxford Junction, IA; and 13 grandchildren. Shirrie was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one son.
