Terri Jo Rude Benischek, age 48, of Wheatland, Iowa, died on September 27, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospital. Terri was born June 29, 1963, in Kirksville, MO to Ernest Rude and Mary (Humphrey) Rude. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Iowa. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, October 2, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Memorials may be sent to First Trust and Savings Bank in Wheatland for a fund for the children. Terri loved to read, crochet, ride Harleys, play cards and spend time with her family and friends. She also loved her furry friends, shi-tzus Harley and Isabella. Seven weeks ago Terri was diagnosed as having stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain, leaving very little time for those who knew and loved her to say farewell. Terri worked various waitressing jobs in the area and then worked at Farmer's Supply in Wheatland. Most recently she was employed by Deparados, where it is said she made the best breakfasts in town. She is survived by her mother Mary Rude of Wheatland; sons Nicholas Damberg of Bremerton, WA, and Dylan Benischek of Wheatland; daughters Miranda Benischek (Alex) of Bagley, IA, and McKenna Benischek of Wheatland; brothers Kerry (Julie) Ayer of Toronto, IA, Michael (Stacey) Rude of Wheatland, and Mitchell Rude of Eldridge; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Terri was preceded in death by her father and brother Ernest Jr.
