Terry R. "Cactus" Jones, age 69, passed away on Saturday October 5, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bill Harnish officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 8, 2013 from 4-7 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Terry was born on October 15, 1943 to Charles Dillon and Fern (Rullman) Jones in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Avis Warmuth on January 25, 1964 in Mechanicsville. Terry graduated from Lincoln High School. He worked at Cryovac for 42 years as a forklift operator, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a past member of the Mechanicsville Fire & Ambulance crew and belonged to a number of different associations, including the Cedar County Sportsmans Club, Iowa Trapshooters Association, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, and was a former teamster member. He enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also loved his family and grandchildren, and their activities. Terry is survived by his wife, Avis; two sons, Keith (Darla) of Decorah and Gene of Bellevue; daughter, Julie Johnson of Marion; six grandchildren, Sarah, Erin and Lindsey Jones, Hunter Jones, and Kayla and Alex Johnson; two nephews; and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doug.
