Velma Kintzel, 89, of Clarence, formerly of sta, Iowa died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Clarence Nursing Home. Velma Smith was born on September 17, 1908 in rural Cedar County to Raymond and Lydia Hines. Velma Married Kenneth Smith August 18, 1932 at Chicago, Illinois. He died April 25, 1989. Velma was a 1926 graduate of Mechanicsville High School she was member of Stanwood Union Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Royal Neighbors. For many years she was in charge of Horticulture and antiques at the Cedar county Fair. A memorial service at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 18th at Chapman Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Clarence Iowa. Pastor Phil Leipold will be presiding. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville Iowa. Velma is survived by nieces and newphews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorials can be made to Cedar County Fair Association.
