Veneta L. Kroemer, age 87 of Lowden, passed away on Monday December 15, 2014 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 19, 2014 at 10:30 A.M at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday December 18, 2014 from 5-7 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Veneta was born on August 4, 1927 to Gerhard and Lena (Brunscheen) Wenndt in Cedar County. She married Edwin Kroemer on December 8, 1946 in Lowden. He died June 9, 1995.
Veneta was active in the Farm Bureau legislation committee, the farm-city swap with Chicago families,the president of the Cedar County Porkettes, and was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid and hospice assistance. She received the Cedar County 4-H youth committee award and the Elalnco award for greatest contributions in the Cedar County Porkettes.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Pat) of Lowden and Leslie (Pat) of Marian, IN.; daughter, Theresa (Jim) Schnack of Cornville, AZ.; grandchildren, Todd (Sara) Schnack, Troy (Darcy) Schnack, Brian (Pam) Schnack, Cameron (Megan Clabaugh) Kroemer, Ethan (Melissa) Kroemer, Christian (Darcy) Kroemer, Katie (Mike) Rodewald, Kimberly (fiance Ryan Schewe) Kroemer, and Ryan (Lindsey) Kroemer; great grandchildren, Haley, Matt, Avery, Ainsley, Rowan, and Nico Schnack and Allyson, Meghan, Josh, Olivia, Isabel, Andrew, Akasha, Winne, and Isla Kroemer; and sisters, Alberta Thien of Tipton and Carolyn (Loren) Voss of Winfield, KS.
Veneta was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edwin.
