Virginia Rock, age 87, of Wheatland, Iowa, died March 12, 2010, at the Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Virginia was born June 28, 1922, in Gilbert, Iowa, to Roscoe and Bessie (Petersen) Casad. Virginia married Harold Rock August 23, 1941, at Dewitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 19, 2010, at St. Paul's United Church Of Christ in Wheatland, Iowa, with Reverend John Cofield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Virginia and Harold owned and operated Rock Hardware in Wheatland before retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and the American Legion Auxilliary. Virginia's passion was her flower garden. She is survived by a daughter Gloria (Don) Mills of Wheatland; 2 grandsons: Dan (Jenny) Mills of Athens, Wisconsin and Tim (Jodi) Mills of Keller, Texas; 5 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Lauren, Jonathon, Libby, Eric; and a brother Glen (Delora) Casad of Wheatland. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Neoma Block, Shirley Lichtenstein, and Pat Willer; and brother Edward Casad.
