Virginia Ruth "Ginger" Wood, age 101 of Tipton and formerly of Stanwood, passed away on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at Cedar Manor in Tipton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19 at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until service time.

Ginger was born on October 17, 1922 to Clarence and Lillis (Asbly) Bowers in Bicknell, Indiana. She married Rollin Dale Wood on May 5, 1945 in Maquoketa. He passed away on December 3, 2010.

She is survived by her son Raymond (Bette) of Swisher; daughter Sarah Sally Kraft of Davenport; grandchildren Scott Kraft, Debra Frederichs, and Bryan Wood; four great grandchildren Jill, Erin, Nicole, and Patrick; and great great grandchild Oaklynn.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Ginger enjoyed cooking and had her own special recipe for fruit cake. She also liked canning from her garden, tending to her flowers, and her family.
