Vivian Ebert, age 89, of Clarence, Iowa, died at Presbyterian Village, Ackley, Iowa, on July 5, 2010. Vivian was born May 19, 1921, in Sunberry, Iowa, to Alfred and Rose (Wendt) Voss. Vivian married Norbert Ebert on June 23, 1940, at Stanwood, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 9, 2010, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Pastor Gary Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 12:30 until service time at the church on Friday, July 9, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Arrangements are with Chapman Funeral Home-Clarence.
Vivian was a 1939 graduate of Tipton High School,for many years she worked as a clerk in Claney's Grocery Store in Clarence and also sold Avon. For many years she was Cedar county Cancer chairperson, she also was a former Golden Ringer in the St. John's Church bell choir.
She is survied by: son, Joel (Sue) Ebert of Ackley; daughter, Linda Hines of Clarence; brothers Lorren Voss of Winfield Kansas and Al Voss of Garner; and sister Darlene King of Winfield Kansas. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren Adam (Denise) Frahm of Cedar Rapids; Lance (Jollene) Hines of Lowden; Chad (Sara) Ebert of Courtland, Minnesota; Kara (Michael) Short of Rochester, Minnesota; Clark (Shary) Ebert of Riceville; and 10 great grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lester Voss, sister Leora Schlinker, and son Scott Ebert.
