Warren W. Porter, age 87 of Wheatland, passed away on Sunday December 14, 2014 at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Warren was born on February 10, 1927 to James and Lottie (DeVault) Porter in Nichols, Iowa. He married Shirley Griffin on September 25, 1954. She passed away in March of 2008. Warren's body was deeded to the University of Iowa Anatomy program. He was a Navy WWII veteran and an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Warren also adored his pets; his labrador Matti and his cats Mia and Mazie. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy of Wheatland; brothers, Lee (Louise) Ulch of Gladbrook and Jim (Geri) Porter of Spokane, WA.; sisters, Jean Maher of Hiawatha, Jane (Kenny) Ruess of West Liberty, and Hellen (Jack) Salemink of Nichols; step brother, William Porter; and many nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and brothers, Ardell Ulch, Raymond Porter and Ronald Porter.
