Wayne Schroeder, age 60, of Wheatland, Iowa, died January 22, 2010, at Genesis East Medical Center-Davenport. Wayne was born on May 5, 1949, in Davenport to Orville and Dorothy (Vens) Schroeder. Wayne married Joyce Schlemmer March 1, 1970, at Lost Nation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland, with Pastor Eric Swenson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, January 25, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Wayne worked as a farmer and carpenter, he was a member of the Christian Free Lutheran Church where he was a trustee and enjoyed singing in the choir. He also was a member of the Pine Hill Cemetery Board. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, carving, and helping others. He is surived by his wife Joyce; sons Jeff (Rachael of Ft. Myers, Florida) and Andy (Amanda) of Eldridge; grandchildren Logan, Amara, Alyssa; his mother Dorothy Schroeder of Wheatland and sister Shirley Goodman of Wheatland. Wayne was preceded in death by his father.
