William E. Eiselstein, age 87 of Toronto, passed away on Saturday June 20, 2020 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence at 11:00 a.m. with Diane Prichard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Massillon Cemetery with military rites.
William was born August 11, 1932 in rural Cedar County in a log cabin to Earl William and Ada Elizabeth Wagner Eiselstein. He married Helen DoJoode on September 18, 1952. She passed away on September 5, 1983. He then married Shirley Schroeder on August 11, 2013. She passed away on March 20, 2020.
William served his country in the Army and retired from J.I. Case in Bettendorf in 1987 after farming for 20 years before that.
He was an avid pool player and loved to socialize at local clubs. He also liked to fish, hunt, and always had a camera in his pocket to take a picture.
Survivors include his son Steven (Lylie) of Wilton; daughters Melissa (Jim) LaFrenz of Wheatland and Cheryl (Marvin) Hintz of Toronto; grandchildren Steve Eiselstein Jr., Travis Eiselstein, Robert Eiselstein, Michael LaFrenz, Brianna Lafrenz, and Matthew LaFrenz; 5 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives; brother David; and son Dennis.
